Good Design Research (GDR) was launched by DesignSingapore Council in March 2022 and highlights the importance of how design backed by deep research can make a true difference by building deep domain knowledge and solving the challenges faced by societies and cities.

This special pop-up at Singapore Design Week 2022 showcases how good design can add value to lives holistically, through Purpose – making an impactful difference to overall welfare, community integration and social inclusivity; Practice – constantly improving work processes and the environment; and Play – re-framing perspectives of life through the lens of creativity and imagination. It was accompanied by craft workshops, design thinking workshops, panel discussions, and talks.

We exhibited hello empathy together with over 20 GDR recipients including GINLEE Studio, Werable by Claudia Poh, Roger&Sons, Offcut Factor, NOST, Forest & Whale and more, and conducted our final prototyping workshop with members of the public for hello empathy.
